Participants identify their environment and journey through life to date. This section reinforces the participants ability to identify the cause of a problem in order to change the effect. Drawing on multiple intelligences interpersonal skills are developed. By understanding the thought world and language participants and refine their skills of listening, responding and interacting with others. Participants begin to see how movement around the medicine wheel concept represents change and growth.

Section 2

By looking at the contemporary wheel of life and the importance of focusing thoughts to gain control over emotions participants develop intrapersonal skills and an ability to access and verbalize feelings and emotions. They begin to understand how their thoughts evolve, identify new areas of interest, learn how symbols are strong motivators to impart knowledge and understand how learning through opposites can assist in personal growth and goal setting.

Section 3

Section Three helps participants define meaning, purpose and direction. By identifying where change can occur, it provides tools to chart a new course and explore symbols to maintain a path of well being. Participants identify how new knowledge can be applied, identify sources of help to maintain long term goals and objectives, and see how the medicine wheel concept mirrors their journey through life.

Section 4

Section Four reinforces how to maintain balance within aspects of self, emotion, intellect and physical well being. Participants set up activities to maintain a path of physical well being, identify areas to pay attention to, and develop tools to facilitate personal growth.

Section 5

Section Five takes participants through the exploration of elements that make up a bigger picture of life and an understanding of the people and situations that are affected by limited choices. Once participants identify educational, community and traditional support systems they are able to identify means to maintain a balance between personal relations and long term goals. Participants detail simple steps and set in place a plan with support.

Section 6

Section Six helps participants gain mastery over their thoughts, words, beliefs and actions. By identifying dreams and steps that can be taken, participants have a clear understanding of the types of lifeskills, interests, talents, gifts or training necessary to begin working towards their goals.

Section 7

By sharing personal experiences and knowledge, participants build either a group medicine wheel or a personal wheel, learn from each other, and identify resources and support systems to direct life-long learning.
